Neptune Cazimi | March 19th: False Awakening & The Heat Mirage
Plus Neptune moments through April

Harsh clarity at the end of a long dream.
This Pisces season has been characterized by a clearing of the emotional pipes. It does feel as though the Sun is calling us out to play. That happens in Spring, but it feels more vivid this year. All seasonal energies have felt more vivid lately - even the death and decay energy of last Fall and the stasis of Winter were front-and-center in my experience in a way they’ve never been. The seasons are loud right now, and today I was taken with the feeling that time is noticeably speeding up.
This could be because we are at the precipice of unimaginable and profound change. Proximity to death vivifying life. Looming crises and risk, sharpening the awareness. And having a ton of feelings about it.
Psychedelic experiences are often marked by an unfiltered experience of raw emotion, but I also think it works the other way around; exposed to the psychedelia of unbridled emotion, we enter altered states that can truly change us.
Neptune Cazimi in Pisces 29° 36’ 08”
March 19th, 2025 - 5:25:00 p.m. (MDT):
This cazimi is going to occur with Neptune in the anaretic degree of Pisces. The last degree of any sign denotes the conclusion of a story, and The Dream appears to be over.
This makes it a sort of preliminary illumination moment in the days preceding the proper Neptune ingress of Aries, occurring on the 30th. Especially since it’s preceded on the 29th by a North Node Solar Eclipse. The Sun is doing double duty around this ingress, first with the cazimi check-in, and again heralding Neptune’s arrival in Aries with an eclipse. What fanfare!
This one-two-three punch is going to reveal, possibly in dramatic stages, a strange new trajectory. The cazimi may function as a preview of the jarring experience we're in for as Neptune leaves its rejuvenative and peaceful domicile of Pisces and hears the first clash of arms ring out from Aries territory. It's as though we fell asleep on a door floating on the ocean in the Neptune-Pisces era, and we now wake up in a sweltering no-man's-land. The idea of the heat mirage comes to mind here.
This is bound to be a revelation of sorts. Likely an event or collection of happenings that snap us out of any illusionary trances, untested beliefs, ungrounded compassion and unsustainable ideals. Or at least, this is the moment that first shakes us and shows us where our psyches really dwell, what visions and dreams we’re willing to act upon, and how held beliefs are likely to actualize (or not).
After the Neptune in Pisces period of re-dreaming the beliefs that create the world, Neptune in Aries will be the proving ground.
Since challenges to our core beliefs register as threats to our survival, this is bound to be jarring, disillusioning and possibly panic-inducing. Individuals will go one of two ways as a response to this; acceptance or denial. The good news is, Neptune’s there for you either way. Empowered by the Sun, Neptune will either bring you stark disillusionment and broad clarity, or powerful delusions that will amass with that of the collective.
Within this rude awakening process, we might hit the snooze button after cazimi, but the alarm goes off again at the end of the month.
Over the next month following the Neptune’s Aries ingress, there will be a drastic shift in our motivating myths. Imagined fears may become reality, or panic responses may turn these fears into self-fulfilling prophecies; people taking abrupt action from stances formed under delusion and confirming unsavory outcomes.
It is also worth mentioning that as Neptune passes through the first few degrees of Aries, it will be trining with Pluto. As an initial impression, Neptune-Pluto aspects ride the line between dreams and nightmares. These dark renderings accompany what must die away in the imaginal in the process of transformation.
To add to this, the Venus and Mercury retrogrades are making sure that love, understanding and forethought have a tough time doing their jobs, all piling up around Neptune and North Node on the eclipse.
This brings me to a date whose space weather reached out to poke me. This is not a fun read, and I don’t want to give it to you, but…you spot it you got it.
For this one, I placed the chart in Washington D.C.
April 20th - 21st: Weaponized Illusion
April 20th, 9:35:30 p.m. (EDT):
Notable Aspects
Scorpio Rising
Chart Ruler: Mars
Venus Conjunct Saturn, Sextiling Uranus
The one of the most exacting T-Squares I’ve ever seen (each at 1° 12’ in their respective signs with a tolerance of 2” among them) between Sun, Moon and Mars, with Sun as the pivot 7th House. I chose the chart time based around this T-Square, but expect this read to apply for at least the 20th, and likely through the 21st.
Moon applying Conjunction to Pluto
Neptune+Mercury in 6th House Trining Mars and Sextiling Moon+Pluto
Saturn+Venus+North Node
I’ve been ringing this bell for a while, but I suggest that Neptune in Aries (or in any aspect to Mars) is ripe weather for up-ticks in propaganda, and likely more than mere up-ticks. Combat performed through false images, projections and addiction to a vicious media cycle. AI as an integrated propaganda tool is very much a guarantee. The Deep Fakery is about to get very spooky.
Your availability to this will probably have a lot to do with how much public discourse (see: propaganda) you have absorbed. And there is no clean political alignment. It’s not The Good Guys vs. A Perfect Villain. If you believe anything like that, you’re already lost in the heat mirage.
The activity between Moon+Pluto, Neptune+Mercury and Mars in this Scorpio Rising chart speaks of astonishing levels of deceit. Deliberate and directed deception. This is par for the course, but this moment may mark a turning point. Neptune+Mercury in Aries acting as the mouthpiece of illusory stories from the front lines, with Mars in Leo providing a very loud and public-facing aggression, while Moon+Pluto in Aquarius highlights aspects of technological subterfuge and activates the shadow side of group power dynamics. Whatever happens on the ground will not be reflected in the official story from any mainstream source. As has been the case for as long as national news media has existed. Still worth mentioning.
Considering that Mars and Pluto - the classical and modern rulers of Scorpio - are in opposition here, I can only read this as an overwhelmingly malefic configuration. This opposition across 4th and 10th aspects Neptune+Mercury in the 6th, but also the Sun in the 7th.
This configuration across the 4th, 6th and 10th, suggests heated conflict over the needs of the people and the industries they rely on, the neglect and/or encroachment upon those needs by government and big tech, the effects on public health and well-being and the resulting civil unrest. The T-Square across 4th, 7th and 10th will involve the market effects of all that, with the additional concern of various trade wars.
The T-Square of the Sun in Taurus, 7th House, suggests that this moment will have wild consequences for value systems, both economic and personal. Potential breakdown of trade agreements. This may be a moment where there is a distinct pushback between public and private sectors over inflation, workers’ rights and the degradation of supply-lines.
Interestingly, Mars being in Leo gives the Sun leverage here, though Mars’ status as chart ruler, his placement in the 10th House, and the reinforcements he gets from the Neptune+Mercury conjunction in his domicile lead me to think he far outweighs in terms of raw power. Unfortunately the 10th House is taken to signify the head of state, who may resort to public show of force.
Add in the fact that Saturn is exact on the North Node by less than 2 minutes, conjunct Venus (ruler of the Sun’s and Uranus’ current sign), sextiling Uranus, and we have a perfect storm. With Saturn implicated in 7th House Taurus affairs, lean times due to constrained partnerships may ensue. Uranus’ occupation of Taurus may continue to present natural disasters that exacerbate all this.

The rest of this article gets pretty dark and conspiratorial, because we are in conspiratorial times. I’m pay-walling the last bit, because it’s definitely for the burgeoning lean-in crowd. Be in a good place going in.
